Note: Prior to practice today, Larry Foyt announced he would sit out races at Charlotte and Martinsville. He plans to return as driver of the Harrah's Dodge at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Mark Green handled the driving duties for Foyt at Charlotte.

LARRY FOYT, HARRAH'S DODGE:

"It was a harder lick than I think I realized there at Talladega and with the fractured wrist and bruised kidneys. I was excited because we were kind of turning our program around, I felt like. Our cars were getting better. I went to Kansas and tried to qualify and missed it by four-one hundredths (of a second) and I think if I would have been healthy we would have made it. So I made the decision to sit out a couple of weeks. We're not in the points race, just get well and heal right so it's not something that bothers me my whole life. Mark Green, who helped me a lot in the Busch Series and been a good friend, I know he's a good driver so I wanted him to hop in the car and see what he could do. The fracture in my wrist, I can't really bend my wrist or it will never heal (smiles) so that really does affect me with my left wrist and the way I drive in the racecar. It's too crucial right now for Harrah's and for us to be in these races so that's why I felt like if I'm not 110 percent then I don't need to be in the racecar. Mark is going to do a good job but it doesn't look good tonight. We didn't have the lap that we needed but all in all I should be back in Atlanta."
