MADISON, Ill., July 17, 2004 -- Steve Park finished 31st in the Missouri-Illinois Dodge Dealers Ram Tough 200 at Gateway International Speedway July 17. He started 4th and was running in the top 10 when the transmission broke with less than 40 laps to go. It was the first transmission failure for Orleans Racing in three years. Park is 14th in points with 1,441 points. He is three points behind 13th place David Reutimann and 396 behind leader Dennis Setzer.

STEVE PARK: “I don't know how to change our luck. It seems like everything that can happen to us has happened to us. We got caught up in wrecks early in the season. Then we had pit-stop problems. This week the transmission broke. Every week we are in contention. The Casino Queen Dodge was running great. We were in a position to win. What happened at the end with all of the green-white-checkered attempts is a good example of the importance of being in the right place at the right time. If we had still been in fourth with two laps to go we would have had a good shot at the win. They really made the most of the last week for multiple green-white-checkered finishes."
